Synopsis
“Tichee 17 Prakarne” – Seventeen Scenarios of Her Life. This is a piece that primarily portrays an abstract of a woman who may or may not be an international terrorist or may or may not be a suspect and incidentally is as common as a person staying next door. The script, appearing to be this simple one liner, comments by making sharp, deep cuts into the current socio political chaos. Threats of International, Cross-border and Internal terrorism are our day to day reality now.

Directors’ Note
This play represents one of the high points of experimental theatre, written in the last quarter- century. As the play’s subtitle – Seventeen Scenarios of her- suggests, Tichee… is not a linear narrative. The ‘scenarios’ between unnamed speakers in unspecified locations, take various implied forms, all trying to pin down the nature of an unseen central character: ‘A Woman’. The play is partly an exercise in examining the way words on a page create the ‘reality’ on the stage and the way that directors and actors assign meaning to dialogue. The script, appearing to be this simple one liner, comments by making sharp, deep cuts into the current socio political chaos.
This production has been supported by India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) under the New Performance Programme. This new production by Aasakta is a piece of theatre created by collaboration of 4 young directors, active and vibrant on the experimental theatre scene and their actors finally contributing to one thematic thread. Different styles of acting and vivid interpretations are woven together to create a design which might not be cohesive in nature. This theatrical piece is a dynamic design, changing in a kaleidoscopic manner of being Different at every step, different with every single contribution by every single person involved in it.
